Life Coach

About Me

My twin sister and I were born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1952. We had five older brothers and sisters, and later a younger brother joined the family. My father was a skilled technician in the flooring industry, and we moved often until I was seven years old.

At that time our family moved to Kensett, Arkansas a small town about fifty miles north of Little Rock. I stayed in Kensett until I graduated from high school. I was on the school newspaper staff, the annual staff, and the track team.

After graduation I attended Harding University in nearby Searcy, Arkansas. I had a double major in Communications and Biblical Studies.

After completing my bachelor's degree I moved to Memphis, Tennessee, to attend graduate school at Harding University Graduate School of Religion. There I majored in Counseling and continued my biblical studies. I worked with the campus ministry at The University of Memphis (then known as Memphis State University).

I worked for two years as a campus minister at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. After that I returned to Memphis and began my doctoral studies in Counseling and Personnel Services from The University of Memphis. I taught undergraduate classes in rehabilitation counseling and interpersonal skills for three years as a graduate assistant and adjunct instructor.

After receiving the Doctor of Education degree in 1996 I began working as the Adjustment Counselor for the Alliance for the Blind and Visually Impaired (a program of Senior Services, Inc.). I facilitated a support group for blind and visually impaired person in the greater Memphis community, edited a newsletter, and assisted people in the adjustment process of severe vision loss. After the initial mourning period for the loss, people need help in getting their lives back on track.

In January 2002 I moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, and began my practice as a full-time life coach. Then in December 2005 I moved back to Memphis, Tennessee, and continued my private practice.

I look forward to working with you!
